Ryan Neuhard, Superintendent

Mr. Neuhard began his education career at Steelton-Highspire School District as an Elementary School Teacher and coached Basketball, Football and Baseball. He furthered his career and became the Elementary Principal and then Middle/High School Principal. He then was promoted to Central Office where he served as the Director of Secondary Education/Pupil Services.  

Mr. Neuhard came to the Newport School District in 2012 as the High School Principal and was promoted to Superintendent of Schools in 2014. Mr. Neuhard earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Literature from Wilkes University, a Master’s of Curriculum and Assessment and Principals Certification from The Pennsylvania State University, and his Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Shippensburg University.  Mr. Neuhard is married to his wife Jill and is the proud father of three children Adyson, Torren and Keagan. 

Superintendent Evaluation

At the meeting of the Newport Board of School Directors held on June 11, 2024, the Board approved a Satisfactory evaluation for Mr. Neuhard for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Board of School Directors is required to post the mutually agreed to objective performance standards contained in the superintendent's contract on the school district's publicly accessible internet website. Upon completion of the annual performance assessment, the Board of School Directors is required to post the date of the assessment and whether or not the District Superintendent has met the agreed to objective performance standards on the school district's publicly accessible internet website.
